Coastal Partnership East are part of East Suffolk Council (ESC) and are responsible for coastal management. They have appointed the Water Management Alliance (WMA) to complete repairs and maintenance of coastal protection assets along the Suffolk coast, which are owned or managed by ESC. Repair and maintenance work along the coastal defences is expected to start from Monday 12 April 2021 onwards, allowing the maintenance contractor to maximise work around daily tides. This work will last approximately two to three weeks. All work is subject to safe working conditions i.e. tide and weather condition dependent. There has been a recent influx of adults and children riding e-scooters in the local area, it is currently against the law to ride an e-scooter on a public road or pavement. The only place an e-scooter is authorised for use is on private land, with the landowners permission. E-scooters are classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles (PLEVs), so they are treated as motor vehicles and subject to the same legal requirements. Police have the authority to seize these vehicles.
The Lowestoft Flood Risk Management Project, when complete, will protect over 1500 homes and 800 businesses from flooding from the sea. The work includes building tidal floodwalls and a tidal barrier. There are three work packages: two for the tidal walls and a final work package for the tidal barrier. This factsheet provides you with an update about the start of the site set up and preparatory works for the start of work package 1. Construction of the tidal walls in work package 1 started in Hamilton Road and Waveney Road yesterday, 6 April 2021, with plans to work Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. There are no current plans to work on weekends or Bank Holidays.

Suffolk Recycles advises to safely dispose of the test kit, place all of the items from the test and the plastic packaging into the bag provided and then put this bag with your general waste into your kerbside bin for disposal. This applies whether the test result is positive or negative.
None of the plastic items or plastic packaging should be put into the recycling bin. They are not recyclable in your kerbside recycling bin.
If there are disposable gloves and disposable masks in the kit, these are also not recyclable and should be put in the general waste bin.
The outer cardboard packaging and paper leaflets from the test kits can be recycled in your kerbside recycling bin.
See the full leaflet here.
