I am a newly elected Labour Party Councillor (my first time council appointment) representing Harbour and Normanston Ward.
I was born in Kings Lynn and moved to Lowestoft from Norwich in 1984. Currently I'm living in Elmtree, but have previously spent 10 years living in the Harbour and Normanston Ward. My older children attended what was then Roman Hill Middle School and my youngest attended Lowestoft 6th Form College. I'm married to Jane and between us we have 6 children and eight grandchildren. I had a career as a registered nurse (Learning Disabilities) until 1998, when I qualified as a teacher, and have been working in local schools for the past 20 years. I'm currently working part time for a local academy.
I believe passionately in striving for positive outcomes for the town of Lowestoft and I'm proud to work hard on behalf of the people of the area. I bring to the Town Council my enthusiasm, my interest in services to children and young people and my passion for making our town as ecologically friendly as possible. I'm fully on board with the Town Council's declaration of climate crisis and would encourage individuals to make the small changes required, which together make a big difference.
