Where did you get my email address from?
We received your email address from your electricity supplier - the company to which you pay your electricity bills. Your electricity supplier is required to pass this information to UK Power Networks so we can contact you if there is a power cut. This change was made in September 2014 following widespread power cuts due to severe weather in 2013 and early 2014. We will not use this information to contact you for marketing purposes. We do want to let you know who you should contact during a power cut and how you can get extra support at that time. We’re committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and we’ll take all steps necessary to ensure that this information is treated securely. For more information please see our data privacy policy here.
From 25 May 2018, we will be required to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016. At UK Power Networks we understand the importance of protecting your personal data. If you would like to know more, please access our Data Privacy Policy and our FAQs.
