The Ness holds the unique position of being the UK’s most easterly park. The site is accessible for the public to enjoy, with cycling, wheelchair and pedestrian access to the sea wall, Ness Point (the most easterly point in the UK) and the coastal path, a play and picnic area for families and a performance stand.
The park was subject to a recent regeneration with new play equipment installed and the development of a new “Augmented Reality” app which presents the history of The Ness in an interactive way. Users of the free app can find out more about the onsite drying racks, the lighthouse and other stories linked to the location and North Lowestoft’s maritime history.
More information on the Ness App, and how to download it, can be found here ➡️ https://www.lowestofttowncouncil.gov.uk/local-information/the-ness/the-ness-app/
