Tucked away in Kirkley, Fen Park has a history that dates back to the early 1900s. In the 1930s, the land was bought by a Mr Powell, who developed the area into a popular boating lake and menagerie.
The park has a wide range of plants and wildlife thanks to the various environments on offer - from waterways to woodland, reeds to shrubs and open spaces. Generations of swans have also called Fen Park their home with a new broad of seven cygnets being born this year.
Alongside the pond and woodland, the park boasts a children’s play area and new fitness equipment and is a popular location for walks.
