Join popular local historian David Butcher in the Town Hall Council Chamber as he takes us through the fascinating history of this prominent High Street site. Hear how the site has evolved from a medieval chapel of ease to a Victorian purpose-built civic building.

The Town Hall will also be open for a drop in event for people to view the Council Chamber, and its stunning stained glass on Saturday 29th October 10am-3pm and Sunday 30th October 10am-2pm. There will be an opportunity to view displays about the history of the Town Hall site and local industries and learn more about the Town Hall’s exciting redevelopment project. You can also explore more of the building with the Virtual Town Hall

This event is part of the Lowestoft Town Hall project, a Lowestoft Town Council initiative supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Towns Fund, Architectural Heritage Fund, Historic England and East Suffolk Council.
