#LoveParks Week is a national campaign, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, to celebrate Parks and Open Spaces.

For 2023, Lowestoft Town Council are working with a range of partners on physical events within some of our parks to help you enjoy our open spaces.  All of these events are free with some of theme including resources that can be used throughout the summer!

Times for some of the events will be updated nearer to the event.

Tuesday 1 August - Rosedale Park

  • Official Opening of the new "space-themed" play area at Rosedale Park | 10:30am

Wednesday 2 August - Kensington Gardens

  • Launch of the 'Hedgehog Story Trail' and other activities with guided trails at 11am and 2pm (organised in partnership with Get Suffolk Reading)
  • "Come and Play" Bowls with Kensington Gardens Bowls Club | (6:30pm)

Thursday 3rd August - Sparrows Nest Gardens

  • Official Opening of the "Alice in Wonderland" themed play area | (11:45am)
  • Andy the Clown Summer Event | (12noon-3pm)
  • Lowestoft Town Hall Project Heritage Bike and Activities

Friday 4th August - Fen Park

  • Crops in Pots (9am-4pm) - pot flower and salad leaves seeds and take them away with instructions on how to look after them.
  • Forest Bathing (10am-11am) - an introduction to the Japanese practice of fulling immersing ourselves fully in nature.
  • Taster Climate Café (3pm-4pm) - an opportunity for people to get together to talk and act on climate change in an open, inclusive space.

Saturday 5th August - Ness Park & Sparrows Nest Gardens
