On Saturday 4th October 2025, the Royal Naval Patrol Service Association marked their 50th anniversary with their annual Service of Remembrance in Belle Vue Park.
Despite the high winds, a large crowd of people gathered to celebrate this milestone next to the Naval War Memorial in the park, with the service led by Amanda Wisher from the Fisherman’s Mission.
Following the ceremony, the event moved to Sparrows Nest Gardens for live music and tours around the RNPSA Museum.
The RNPSA has had a long connection to Lowestoft with the Association forming in 1975 at the former Royal Naval Patrol Service’s headquarters in Sparrows Nest Gardens to support its veterans. In 2024, Lowestoft Town Council awarded the Freedom of the Town, the highest honour it can bestow, to the RNPSA in recognition of their support to veterans and the work the Association has done for the people of Lowestoft.
