I moved to the UK in 1994 after completing a BA (Hons) in Social Work, initially taking a gap year to learn English before progressing to postgraduate studies in Clinical Psychology. I later gained a diploma in Psychological Counselling and Psychotherapy. Since making Lowestoft my home in 2013, my work has focused on empowering others through roles including Independent Social Worker, Personal Development Coach, martial arts instructor, and author of therapeutic children’s books.
I have been actively involved in community initiatives, supporting and organising fundraising efforts for charities such as the RNIB and MND. Over the years, I have held several leadership roles, including Chair of the Singapura Breeding Advisory Committee for the GCCF, UK President of the CFA, and Coordinator of Neighbourhood Watch.
As a martial artist, I achieved multiple national and world titles, but a motorbike accident brought my sporting career to an end. This experience led me to focus even more strongly on community work.
I am the founder of ACE (Arts Community East), formerly Woodworks Art Café, which I established during the COVID-19 pandemic to tackle isolation and mental health challenges. Today, ACE provides workshops, support services, and inclusive peer groups for LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with hidden disabilities, and neurodiverse communities, alongside a “no questions asked” food bank and practical advice services.
I am also passionate about accessibility and run a BSL social café to support the deaf community, continuing to champion inclusion, community pride, and engagement across Lowestoft.
