Since childhood, I have lived in Lowestoft area, born in Oulton, with many of my fonder memories taking place along the promenade, or running through Sparrows Nest as a small child.
In alignment with a ever present interest in food technology, nutrition, ect, most of my career has been within the food industry, most recently having co-owned a small café within Lowestoft. In that, I had the privilege of being able to connect with far more of our local community than I had previously known, discuss their feelings, thoughts, ideas and fears regarding Lowestoft extensively, which provided excellent grounds of knowledge to start this role.
Involving myself in community projects from then onward became a big part of my life, for, in the midst of geopolitical crisis, having support between people, places everyone can go, is immensely valuable. When times are tough let’s come together, to work towards a world where we all can thrive, starting right here.
Now, that pre-existing love for community, and in that, supporting local community, has came about in a different manner.
I became councillor because I wanted the opportunity to support, assist, and advocate for our local community. Local parks, groups, green spaces, are all vital for welfare of the people, so ensuring they’re properly cared for, that people’s ideas are heard, is essential. We are facing climate crisis, ensuring we are as ecological as possible will be priority. Alongside providing spaces, where everyone is welcome, to tackle issues from the ground up.
