Funding Local Action for IDAHOBIT – and Beyond

This May, we’re inviting local organisations or charities to apply for small grants to mark IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia).

IDAHOBIT, held each year on 17 May, is a moment to stand against discrimination and to champion dignity, safety and equality for LGBTQ+ people everywhere.

We know that some of the most powerful change happens at a local level – in conversations, creative projects, community spaces and acts of solidarity. That’s why this funding is designed to support practical, visible, community‑led activity connected to IDAHOBIT.

Projects could include:

  • Creative or arts‑based responses
  • Community events or workshops
  • Storytelling, exhibitions or performances
  • Outreach, awareness or inclusion initiatives

Fund in is available up to £200 to support events in the build up to Lowestoft Pride taking place on 11th July 2026.

The closing date for applications is Monday 11th May, 9am.  More information and the application forms, can be found by contacting us at admin@lowestofttowncouncil.gov.uk
