3D Scanning of Lowestoft Porcelain Pugs

We’ve brought history into the 21st century; Lowestoft Museum’s priceless porcelain pugs got an upgrade! Tim Cross, local ceramic artist, 3D scanned the pugs which were 3D printed in Lowestoft Ceramic Studio shop window throughout the Heritage Open Day's festival and October half term. This pair of extremely rare Lowestoft porcelain pugs were recently acquired by Lowestoft Museum and are available to see in the Lowestoft Porcelain gallery in the Museum, alongside the 3D printed model. There was also a video of the 3D scanning process which can be seen at the Museum and also Lowestoft Heritage Workshop Centre.

Tim also talked to Whitton life lunch club about Lowestoft Porcelain and ran a clay workshop for people living near the Town Hall.
